Yes, mostly. I had good friends, and I enjoyed most (not all!) of the lessons. I remember I really enjoyed 6th form, when we seemed to have lots more freedom. The higher up you go in school the more you get to choose the subjects you want to study, so I think that’s part of it!
I can also remember some times I didn’t enjoy it, like falling out with friends. I used to get the train to my school, and there were some bullies on that train, so that was stressful for a while. But overall I think they were quite happy times 🙂

I did and I didn’t. Looking back on it, I “thought” I enjoyed some things. For example, I liked that I was good at sport, at most academic subjects, and succeeded in the system. I guess that felt good. I got lots of pats on the back and I felt like I was being a “good boy.” But the older I get, the more I realize that I wasn’t really able to think freely, openly, and about the things that “I” really wanted to think about until I got to university. I think school restricted my thinking and held it back – now I feel that I’m free to think about the issues and questions that I feel are important.

I also asked your question (do you enjoy school?) to my 8 year old son – who’s sitting next to me. Alex said:

“Mostly no. Because I feel like I’m forced to do everything the teacher tells me to do. I feel like I’m just like a robot.”

I think that pretty much sums it up for me 🙂

Hi 🙂 Not particularly if I’m honest! I had no problems, but I just found it a little boring, and when I was younger I didn’t like my classes. In my final years I enjoyed it a bit more – we got to choose the subjects we wanted to do, and I was allowed to go to a local college to do a psychology class which I really enjoyed. I got on with my classmates and our year group, but I guess I just wanted to go and get on with life lol!
