So I haven’t researched this one specifically, but yes, sometimes. Problem solving is quite broad thing, so it probably depends on what kind of problem and what type of game. Some types of game are well known to increase spatial cognition (e.g. understanding how objects relate to each other in space), and that’s an important aspect of problem solving.
