      I was the first person to raise baby New Caledonian crows, to find out how they learn to use tools (to get food out of places they can’t reach it, like insects burrowing in tunnels). I found out that they don’t need to watch each other to learn how to do it, so there is probably an important genetic component to their behaviour.
