Hey Kieran! Wow this is a big question!
Is it the process of death you are interested in or what happens afterwards? In terms of after-death, of course people have lots of different opinions about that (some people believe in an afterlife of some kind, others don’t) and science hasn’t found definitive proof of either yet!

You can also look at this question in terms of body or soul. After death, the body of a person decomposes and is broken down into nutrients that feed the earth and animals. But asking about souls and after-life is a much more philosophical question. I like to think that souls of people stay around in the memories and thoughts of those who knew them, but this is purely my own opinion and is not scientific at all! Like Rose said, science hasn’t found proof yet of what happens after we die.

Hi Kieran 🙂 Wow, well the biologists could help you out with that in detail, but all we know for definite is the biological aspects. Although certain religions have different theories about what happens to the soul or spirit, there is no evidence to support that such things exist.
