As far as we know there is no evidence something like this could happen. It would involve time-travel and psychic powers and basically this is just too far-fetched for scientists to accept, as long as there are other explanations that are simpler. What such explanations might there be? The most common one is simply that given that we dream loads, and things happen loads, then just by chance, once in a while, people will dream about an event that happens the next day. When that happens it seems so surprising that you remember it – but you don’t think about all the other times when you dreamt about something that didn’t then happen.

Hi Joshua, Sometimes when we experience deja-vu it can feel as though we dreamt about it – have a look at the question and answers about deja-vu here in the relationships zone.
Lots of people have false-start dreams where we dream about waking up, having a shower, going to school/work, only to wake up a couple of hours later and realise we haven’t done any of those things yet! If dreams are our way of processing information, it makes sense that sometimes’s we’ll process what we need to do the next day when we’re sleeping.
